Park Spotlight: Team Lassman Takes on the Chicago Marathon

Park School transition student Penelope Lassman and her mom, Megan, are training for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Oct. 11, and their journey was recently featured by NBC Chicago. Megan is training to push Penelope across all 26.2 miles of the course, a goal she set for herself two years ago ahead of her 50th birthday. 

Megan told NBC Chicago, "It is really exciting and really emotional for us." Their run is about more than the finish line — it's a mission to raise visibility, promote inclusion and celebrate individuals with disabilities in the community.
