LIBRARY CIRCULATION POLICIES
Borrowing letter signed by parent/guardian must be returned before new students first check out.
Students may have 3 items out at a time.
Books circulate for 21 days-magazines/reference for 2 days. "The Writer" for 5 days.
Items maybe renewed for one additional period. Students with overdues lose borrowing privileges.
There are no overdue fees.  Students are responsible for lost/damaged items.

     LIBRARY COLLECTION
The library collection is developed to support the curriculum and serve as a resource for students and teachers. It provides resources that educate, enrich, entertain and inform. Most of the reference resources can't be borrowed, but each student is allowed 10 free photocopies of library related material.

LIBRARY COMPUTERS
The library has eight computers for class assignments and educational research. Students may borrow a "writer" (used to prepare documents or practice keyboarding) for five days with parent/guardian's permission.  A copy of the permission is available on downloads sidebar.

Chute students are served by two public libraries.
Evanston Public Library and Skokie Public Library.
Details about access are below.
Students may also borrow books from any suburban public library within a 45 mile radius with their public library card.

Evanston Public Library
 From school: You can search the Evanston Public Library databases from school - click on the EPL picture to access the databases.

 Outside school: Click on the link to access the Evanston Public Library website: http://www.epl.org
You can use your Evanston Public Library card to access and search the EPL databases as well as put a book on hold. You do not need your library card to search the library catalog.

Skokie Public Library
 From school: Access to the Skokie Public Library databases from school is limited to classrooms.

 Outside school:  Click on the SPL link to access the Skokie Public Library website : SPL
Your Skokie Public Library card is needed to access the SPL databases as well as put a book on hold. You do not need your library card to search the library catalog.
